FIELDS OF PRACTICE
Mr. Bou Shakra is specialized in Canadian citizenship and immigration law. He conceives and implements strategies to help clients become Canadian permanent resident and obtain the Canadian citizenship: immigrant investor, immigrant entrepreneur, skilled worker, family sponsorship and student visa.

Mr. Bou Shakra represents clients and conducts business on their behalf with Citizenship and Immigration Canada and The Ministère des Communautés culturelles et de l’Immigration du Québec. He typically works in conjunction with a diverse group of professional advisors, accountants and trust advisors to prove that the net worth investment was legally obtained by the immigrant investor. He also negotiates, drafts and oversees the immigrant entrepreneur business projects of varied commercial contracts.

Mr. Bou Shakra is also specialized in public international law, conceiving and implementing comprehensive strategies to remove United Nations sanctions imposed on clients by the Security Council Resolution 1521: Travel Ban and Assets Freezing; and developing and implementing legal actions to address UN imposed Assets freezing in different national jurisdictions: Lebanon and the Netherlands. He also focuses on drafting advancing arguments and working closely with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to adopt state-sponsored sanctions removal requests; in addition to lobbying and meeting with diplomatic figures to promote UN sanctions removal.

Mr. Bou Shakra provides private client services: working on preservation, tax minimization and succession issues for an international high net worth client base;
resolving logistical and legal issues with a focus on discretion and effective use of regulatory and taxation opportunities in various jurisdictions; maintaining an international network of legal and accounting advisors, business referral sources; and offshore residency.

LINE OF EXPERIENCE
Mr. Bou Shakra holds a Bachelor of Law Degree (LL.B) from the University of Montreal and a Master in International Law, LL.M from the University of Montreal, Canada. He is a member of good standing of The Canadian Bar Association, The Quebec Bar Association and The Quebec Immigration Lawyers Association. He is also a licensed Canadian lawyer with the Canadian Law Society, authorized by the government of Canada to represent clients throughout their Canadian immigration application and is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
